Ashtanga and General Hatha Yoga

Beginners to Ashtanga Yoga weekend courses

This course is designed to give you an introduction to this self-practice yoga form, to workshop the technical aspects of some of the poses and to learn by heart the first sun salutes and first 3 or 4 standing poses. Come and discover this amazing system of yoga and it’s fundamental elements of Vinyasa flow, Ujaii breathing, Bhanda control, Dristhi (gaze). All these elements practiced together set a powerful stage for meditative movement, steadiness and strength. It’s a beautiful practice.

Includes a short talk on yoga philosophy and history and guidance for understanding how to develop a consistent practice.

The weekend consists of 2 x two hour classes plus a third of your choice in the same week:

Saturday 12:30 – 2:30pm
Sunday12:30 – 2:30pm

$50 per person

Suitable for absolute beginners and those just starting out in the practice.

NB: 2017 courses are now finished for the year. Please come along to either Dee’s 7:15 – 8:30pm Tuesday night class or book a private lesson to explore the Ashtanga practice. You can also start coming to Mysore classes or led classes if you are reasonably fit or start attending Hatha classes and progress into Ashtanga.
