Dear Yoga community
Please note that our studio timetable will close for 2 weeks, starting Saturday 21st March.
In this time we will do a deep clean of our studio and also create a plan for on-going classes. We will also hope to offer some classes while closed via ZOOM. Please look out for notice of these – we don’t want you not practicing! It will be a novel way to keep up your yoga and to feel that you’re a vital part of the community. We will also band together a group of *connectors* who will be available to look out for anyone who is self-isolating, our elderly or anyone needing a little tender loving care at this time.
Looking forward to keeping in contact with you (albeit on-line or by phone for a bit, as I will in isolation myself for 2 weeks, having been in Australia) and also in bringing back classes for you in a mindful and safe way at this rare time.
I would encourage everyone to develop a simple and daily deep, calm breathing and meditation practice. Perhaps this is one of the first things we could share via ZOOM.
Keep things local, enjoy your own home, stay in telephone or on-line contact with friends and family. Commune with nature and live simply. All good things.

When we feel supported, we feel safe, we can rest. Discover through an embodied and mindful Yin Yoga practice how to get support by the elements that surround you. Teresa will guide us into an experiential journey to fine-tune yoursenses enabling you to identify your needs and craves beyond your superimposed conditionings. The practice of Yin Yoga promotes the stimulation of the connective tissue in the body where we hold the accumulated tension from our physical, psychological and emotional fatigue. Useful variations to simple exercises aim to improve our relationship with the floor, your body and the props, the breath and even your intention, reconnecting our parasympathetic nervous system, bringing us calm and freedom. We will be encouraged and enabled to be creative and playful to find out the most effective expression of the proposed asana.
About Kshama Yoga
Teresa Richard is a 500h YA certified teacher in Hatha and Yin, Ashtanga practitioner and curious by nature.She sees Yoga is as individual experience, an empowering tool and a way of life.
She aims to guide and encourage every student to find their own path and practice. Her love for Yin Yoga was first sight and its practice was one of the major supports in the recovery from breast cancer surgery in 2014.
Trained by Jo Phee and Joe Barnett she assisted Jo in Auckland in her Spine, Fascia and MFR TTC module in November 2017 and again in Berlin in July 2018 and led a practical oriented 50h Yin Yoga TTC in Guatemala in July 2019.
Teresaallowsstudents to enjoy and understand the practices so that they can become part of their daily lives.She breaks down techniques with grace and a down-to-earth sense of humour making them accessible and useful.
A warm welcome everyone. And welcome to any new comers thinking of exploring yoga as a health and healing modality. Group classes commence back slowly on Monday January 13th.
This year we have a new time for the Sunday Yin class: 10:30am – 12:00pm (please note there was an initial change to 11am, but it is definitely 10:30am now).
The mid morning classes through the week have been streamlined a little. All classes will start at 9:15am with the exception of Monday remaining at 10:15am.
There is a new early bird Ashtanga LED class on a Tuesday 6:15am start! Get yourself moving!
This year we will have a Pregnancy Yoga class on a Tuesday night at 7:15pm, this commences in February.
Beginners to a general gentle format of yoga (Hatha) may commence at any stage. There will be opportunity to explore yoga philosophy and also Ashtanga commencing in February. Please stay tuned.
